The story of making this Monabat Kari flower vase began one day that I found a piece of pear wood. At first glance, this wood was useless, and if anyone other than me saw it, he probably wouldn’t have noticed it, someone might have kicked it, and another would have burnt it. But I took a more in-depth look at this dry wood with full of natural knots. In the Monabat Gereh artistic style, I attempt to make no wood in vain. The important thing for me in promoting the art of wood carving in the form of knot carving is to support the environment in addition to creating unique artwork like this Iranian wood carving flower vase.

After I looked at the knot for a few hours, it looked like an arm and a fist that usually bodybuilding champions get this figure in competitions to show the strength and shape of their muscles. Also, at the bottom of the wood, I saw a knot showing the shape of the bodybuilding champion’s legs. After finding this beautiful shape in this pear wood, I designed the flowers and bushes around the wood knots to make this Monabat Kari flower vase even more attractive. Then, I thought that this Monabat Gereh artwork could turn into a flower vase given its vertical shape.
